How do you define "poor"?

Throughout the gospels Jesus invited people along on this journey with a simple invitation; "Come, follow me"

Our focus should be on the condition of our relationship with Jesus.

There is a process we go through, either consciously or subconsciously, that is triggered whenever we are offered a gift.

The future has so much greater potential than the past if we can dare dream God-sized dreams!

God is breaking into our world to establish a relationship with us, and worship is how we respond to His invitation.

There are so many things demanding our time and attention that it has become harder and harder to be prepared emotionally and spiritually to come into the presence of God.  Today Pastors Brent and Mike share a message.

A testimony is simply telling other people about Jesus and what Jesus has done in our life.  In other words, telling our story.

The last few weeks we have made the case the character matters.  It matters in the small things and it matters in the big things.  It dictates how people see us and how they form opinions of us.

As much as we may or may not want to admit it: character matters.  It is how we are judged; it affect how people view us.

As we come out of the tension of Good Friday and the excitement of Resurrection Sunday, we are now face with another choice.
What is our next step?

Jesus himself said with his last breath, "it is finished."  The religious leaders thought the troublesome carpenter from Nazareth was finished... but God's plan was not finished.

God's love is forgiving, without measure, and sacrificial.

In the time after Jesus' death and resurrection, this new church enjoyed a time of peace for a few years, but they would soon be faced with trials and presecutions like they had never seen before. If we were in the same situation, how would we respond?

We are talking about the tools, or weapons, that are available to the Christian who wants to make an impact in the spirit realm that has consequences here on Earth.

Upon our salvation, we became enlisted as a soldier in God's army - under His sovereign control and command.

Even the disciples, who walked with Jesus for three years, asked Jesus to teach them one thing: how to pray.

True Christian community should move us beyond the safe, superficial interactions that we call fellowship and does not require anything from us, into a more authentic relationship with one another.

If we are ever going to experience life in the Spirit to the fullness of God intends, we need to stop accepting ho-hum status quo.

Make no mistake, God is a loving God, He is patient as a loving parent is patient. He is slow to anger and abounding in love...but, He is also a jealous God who is about to level the playing field in preparation.

This is the second part of the sermon series called "If My People..." where we are looking at a conditional response from God based on the actions of His people.

In scripture, God has used the phrase "if my people..." as a precursor to a conditional response on God's part. But we have to understand that God will not violate our personal will. He will wait for the hearts of his people to change.
